Editorial Policy
Radiation Environment and Medicine (REM) is published by Hirosaki University Press, with the Editorial Board overseeing content and editorial matters. Initially, submitted manuscripts undergo screening by our Editorial Board Members. Those deemed suitable for REM are forwarded to expert reviewers for evaluation, potentially undergoing a second review if necessary. Our aim is to provide authors with a decision on manuscript within two months and within two rounds of reviewing, with additional reviews reserved for exceptional circumstances. Manuscripts will not be considered multiple submissions or redundant publications for publication.
Authors may appeal a rejection decision by contacting the handling Editor. Managers do not directly decide on publication acceptance but ensure proper procedure adherence. Additional review rounds occur only if procedural lapses are identified.
REM‘s mission is to promptly publish experimental and theoretical reports on significant findings in radiation environment and medicine. Submissions must be original and relevant to the field. Redundant findings should not be submitted. The Editorial Board and Reviewers will determine if a paper is sufficiently important, interesting, and timely for rapid publication in REM.
All authors are encouraged to read the “Aims and Scopes” statement found under the “Home” tab prior to submission of their manuscript to ensure their original work is suitable for publication in REM.
Please write your text in good English (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of these). Authors who feel their English language manuscript may require editing to eliminate possible grammatical or spelling errors and to conform to correct scientific English should enlist a native English speaker with scientific expertise or a professional editing service for manuscript preparation.
Instructions for Authors are published biannually and posted on the Journal’s website, ensuring compliance with evolving publication technology, especially regarding figure preparation.
REM requires copyright assignment to Hirosaki University. Submission implies the work is neither copyrighted nor accepted elsewhere. Authors must disclose if a paper was previously submitted to another journal, whether active or not, as copyright transfer precedes publication.
All authors are required to read the ethics and policy statements found in the “Instructions for Authors” tab.
